Sri Jitendra born and brought up in Amsterdam, is a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer for Bharata Natyam and received his training in classical Bharata Natyam from Guru Sri Subbraya Pillai and Madurai Muralidaran in South India. Besides dance Sri Jitendra has been trained in the art of Nattuvangam (cymbals, a non tuned percussion instrument). He started his own dance school for private dance classes in 1998 in Amsterdam where he has been teaching since.

He is the artistic director of Sathir Natya, a cultural production house based in Chennai (South India) which was established in 1998 and has a branch in Amsterdam.

Sathir Natya on a regular basis collaborates with other Bharata Natyam dance artists from India and outside of India and has produced several contemporary dance productions within the frame work of classical bharata natyam.

Sri Jitendra has produced over 55 audio cd's with music for Bharata Natyam.
