The main objective of the Dr. Jnan Adhin Instituut (JAI) established in April 2004 centres around Hinduism and Hindu Culture. The goals of the JAI are:

• Collect and document all information relating to Hinduism and Hindu culture.
• Build an easily accessible database with information relating to Hinduism and Hindu culture.
• Publish books, periodicals, brochures and other materials relating to Hinduism and Hindu culture.
• Carry out research on subjects relating to Hinduism and Hindu Culture.
• Establish a documentation centre with materials relating to Hinduism and Hindu culture.
• Assist the balanced integration of the PIO’s from Surinam in the Dutch society.
• Award periodically the Jnan-Adhin prize to a person or institution.

The first publication by JAI is the Sarnami - Dutch dictionary.
